    • How to book a tour to North Korea?

      In order to go to North Korea you need to book a tour. There are 2 types of tours:

      • a group tour it is the most popular type of our tours which features predetermined schedule and itinerary. Usually there are about 10-20 people in each group tour. Please refer to the list of our group tours schedule
      • an individual tour is a tailored tour designed according to your preferences and time table
      To book a group tour you just need to hit "book" button on the tour page, fill in the travellers data and we will take care of the rest. To book an individual tour please fill in the booking form (download here) and send it to us postmaster@koreakonsult.com with details of your schedule and your preferencies if you have any.

    • How many people in a group tour?

      Usually we have 10-15 people in each group tour. In a hot season the number of travellers in a group can be up to 20 people in a group

    • How long in advance should I book my tour to North Korea?

      You should book your group or individual tour at least 1 month in advance. We need time to arrange your visa and prepare everything for your trip.
      Please note if you are a single traveler in a group tour and don't want to pay a single supplement surcharge you should have a roommate. The later you book the tour the harder it is to find a roommate for you. Roommates are given on first-come first-served basis, so book your tour in advance

    • I am a solo traveller in the group tour. Will I be charged single room supplement?

      If you are a single traveler in a group tour and don't want to pay a single supplement surcharge you should have a roommate. The later you book the tour the harder it is to find a roommate for you. Roommates are subject to availability and given on first-come first-served basis, so book your tour in advance

    • How do I pay for a tour?

      Upon receiving your booking we will send you an invoice which you can settle by:

      • bank transfer to our account in Sweden (free within EU)
      • credit/debit card payment via PayPal: Visa / Master / American Express / Discover (4% transaction charge will apply)
      If you book your tour more than 45 days before the departure to Pyongyang the tour fee will be split into:
      • 50% deposit due within 1 week after booking
      • rest 50% due one month prior to the departure to Pyongyang
      • If you book the tour less than 45 days prior to the departure then 100% of the tour fee should be paid on booking.
    • What is the cancellation policy?

    • What is the difference between group and individual tours?

      Individual tours to North Korea are very similar to standard group tours in terms of their organization, structure and security arrangements but provide flexible schedule. In individual tour there also will be 2 Korean guides accompanying you everywhere.

    • How do I get my flight tickets to/from Pyongyang?

      Almost all flight tickets to and from Korea are electronic, so we will send your flight e-tickets to you by e-mail. The only exception is Air China flight Pyongyang-Beijing for which a paper ticket should be issued. In this case your Korean guides will hand you over the ticket in Pyongyang.
      Please print out your e-tickets and bring a hard copy to Korea.

    • How do I get my train tickets to/from Pyongyang?
      You can pick up your train tickets:
      • Beijing-Pyongyang: you should pick-up your tickets in Beijing from our agent
      • Pyongyang-Beijing: your Korean guides will hand you over your train tickets in Korea
