July 27 marks the 71st Anniversary of the Armistice Agreement in the Korean War (1950-1953). The agreement established a ceasefire and created the Korean Demilitarized Zone, a buffer zone separating the two Koreas. While it ended the active fighting, it did not lead to a formal peace treaty, meaning that the Korean War technically remains ongoing.
