In the evening catch up train at Moscow Yaroslavsky Railway Station, departure to Irkutsk

Day 2-6 (Sun-Thu): Russia / Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Zabaikalsk. China/Manzhouli |

Enjoy landscape scenery from the train (cross Europe - Asia border on the way)
- You will pass the biggest fresh lake on the planet - lake Baikal. It is the world largest, oldest, and deepest freshlake
- Pass Ulan-Ude, Chita and cross Russia-China border in Zabaikalsk / Manzhouli
- Russia and China use different size of track gauge and thus at the border in Zabaikalsk there will be a long stop (about 5 hours) in order to change bogie/trucks (a chassis or framework carrying wheels, attached to a carriage). You will have enough time to do a last shopping in Russian shops near the railway station, and explore the area
- Zabaikalsk - a Russian city at the border with China, from the railway station you can see "gate to China", a massive arch over the rail-road track; a traditional Lenin monument, WWII memorial, etc.

Day 7 (Fri): Harbin

Arrival in Harbin at 12.50pm
- Visit temple of Bliss - large active Buddhist temple with many gigantic statues, including Milefo (Maitreya, the Buddha yet-to-come) and the Sakyamuni Buddha. The Seven-Tiered Buddhist Pagoda dates from 1924.
- Dàolǐqū District - the most obvious legacy of Russia's involvement with Harbin, now a pedestrian-only zone, the street, and those nearby, are lined with buildings that date back to the early 20th century.
- In 2018 Jan 5 - Feb 28: In the evening you may want to go to visit the Ice and Snow World. Located on the north bank of the Songhua River, the Ice and Snow Amusement World is a major attraction of Harbin Interactional Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival dunging the winter. There are full of awesome ice and snow sculptures created by artists from all around world. Kind note that please wear enough layers of proper clothes and warm shoes to keep you away form the freeze especially when you want to stay there longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Visit Church of St Sophia - the red-brick Russian Orthodox Church built in 1907.
- Sun Island Park - a 38-sq-km recreational zone with landscaped gardens, a ‘water world’, a ‘Russian-style’ town, and various small galleries and museums. It’s a pleasant place to have a picnic
- Japanese Germ Warfare Experimental Base - a museum set in the notorious Japanese Germ Warfare Experimental Base (Division 731). Between 1939 and 1945, prisoners of war and civilians were frozen alive, subjected to vivisection or infected with bubonic plague, syphilis and other virulent diseases. Three to four thousand people died here in the most gruesome fashion. The museum includes photos, sculptures and exhibits of the equipment used by the Japanese.
- Harbin Confucius Temple - peaceful temple complex first built in 1929 and is said to be the largest Confucian temple in northeastern China. The site also houses the fascinating Minority Cultures Museum replete with photos and artefacts focusing on indigenous tribes such as the Ewenki. You need a passport to enter
- Harbin Culture Park - the gigantic Ferris wheel offers panoramic views of the city and it's worth strolling around the grounds to see the locals having a great time. The park is in between the Temple of Bliss and the Harbin Confucius Temple near an atmospheric old Russian church.
- Move to the railway station and depart to Beijing
