You'll travel to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), located at the border between North and South Korea. This site serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing division of the Korean Peninsula, a situation that has remained unresolved since 1953.The DMZ, a heavily militarized strip of land approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) wide, stretches across the Korean Peninsula near the 38th parallel north. Close to the DMZ you will visit Kaesong, the ancient capital of Korea and the almost only city in the DPRK which preserved its original historical make up as it wasn’t destroyed during the Korean War (1950-53).
